Die Geraer Naziszene rund um den „Heimat“-Parteivorstand Christian Klar plant in diesem Jahr, den Arbeiter*innenkampftag für die eigenen Zwecke zu instrumentalisieren. Unter dem Deckmantel eines „Familienfests“ beziehungsweise einer „Maifeier“ soll nicht nur die Selbstverharmlosung betrieben, sondern auch der öffentliche Raum für rechtsextreme Agitation missbraucht werden.

Zu den Mitorganisatoren gehören die rechtsextremen Kleinparteien „Freie Sachsen“ und „Freies Thüringen“ ebenso wie „Die Heimat“ und die „Miteinanderstadt Gera“. Gerechnet wird mit bis zu 2.000 Teilnehmenden – darunter neben bekannten Gesichtern der rechten Szene auch faschistische Jugendgruppen wie die „Gersche Jugend“. Die „Heimat“ sowie deren Jugendorganisation („Junge Nationalisten“) mobilisieren bundesweit; letztere möchte auf der rechten Demonstration als geschlossener Block auftreten.

Weil dies nicht unwidersprochen bleiben kann und darf, hat sich ein Bündnis verschiedener Menschen und Gruppierungen dazu entschlossen, zum dritten Mal in Folge zu einer solidarischen 1.Mai-Demonstration aufzurufen. Der erste Teil wird dabei den Arbeiter*innenkampftag zum Schwerpunkt haben, bevor auf einer Zwischenkundgebung das Thema Repression im Mittelpunkt steht. Die Abschlusskundgebung wird in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Neonazi-„Maifeier“ stattfinden.

This year, the Nazi scene in Gera around Christian Klar – the leader of the political party ‚Die Heimat‘ – is planning to exploit the international labour day for their own purposes. Under the disguise of a ‚family event‘ or a ‚May Day celebration‘, the aim is not only to trivialize themselves, but also to exploit the public space for right-wing extremist agitation.

Co-organizers include the small right-wing extremist parties ‚Freie Sachsen‘ and ‚Freies Thüringen‘ as well as ‚Die Heimat‘ and ‚Miteinanderstadt Gera‘. Up to 2,000 people are expected to take part – including well-known faces from the right-wing scene and fascist youth groups like the ‚Gersche Jugend‘. The ‚Heimat‘ and their youth organization (‚Junge Nationalisten‘) are mobilizing all over the country; the latter wants to appear as a united block at the right-wing demonstration.

Because this cannot and must not go unanswered, various people and groups have decided to call for a counter-demonstration in solidarity for the third year in a row. The first part will focus on the struggles of the international labour day. After that several speeches will focus on the issue of repression. The final speeches will take place in immediate vicinity to the neo-Nazi ‚May Day celebration‘.
